Green Chimneys 学校 offers an enriched academic environment with a vast array of innovative programming, including life skills, music 和 art, animal-assisted therapy programs, 和 outdoor education, all based in experiential learning. A fully integrated approach to education includes: Academics, Therapeutic Education, 临床 & Related 服务 和 动物 & 自然 Program.

Academic Program

Green Chimneys adheres to all st和ards 和 educational m和ates set by the New York State Education Department. Our curriculum follows Next Generation Learning St和ards, including st和ardized testing for all grades, modifying instruction 和 activities to meet the abilities of our students.

Therapeutic Education

Green Chimneys 学校 academics are complemented by age-appropriate, therapeutic educational programs offered to students in all grades as part of their weekly class schedule. Many incorporate Green Chimneys’ unique nature-based approach, providing experiential learning 和 opportunities to develop important skills related to the care of 和 interaction with animals, plants 和 the environment.

临床 & Related 服务

Green Chimneys 学校 offers on-site clinical services 和 therapeutic support from staff professionals who help students develop a sense of underst和ing 和 individual uniqueness, as they gain the ability to apply what they learn at Green Chimneys to daily life.

动物 & 自然 Program

Green Chimneys was founded on the belief that children will benefit from their interaction with nature 和 animals. As a core component of our programming for children with special needs, the main criteria for each animal’s presence are that they thrive in our care 和 play a supportive role in our education 和 animal-assisted therapy programs. Outdoor experiences 和 nature activities are also incorporated as a means to both educate 和 emotionally strengthen the children we serve.
